Many may think that there is nothing to see in Colombo, but in reality, there is plenty. From colonial buildings and architecture to museums, art galleries, and cultural festivals as you will have plenty to keep you occupied.

Museums and Galleries

Mount Lavinia Beach

Mount Lavinia Beach is Sri Lanka's main sea-bathing spot. Here, depending on season, the waves can be swimmable and it's host to some amazing sunsets. Note, however, that this is not a bay like Unawatuna. The waters is swimmable only at certain times of the year and can be very rough, with undertow.

Colombo Nightlife

If you plan to go dancing and clubbing, dress well and show up late. Most of the action doesn’t get started until around midnight, and generally clubs allow males with female partner, in some cases you can just walk in alone.Once you’re in, though, the party goes on till early morning.

Royal Colombo Golf Club

Royal Colombo Golf has an 18-hole golf course at the Ridgeway Golf Links dating from 1879 – it was the third club in the British Empire to earn the ‘royal’ appellation. The links are in good condition

R. Premadasa Stadium

The stadium is in Maligawatte, in what was once a central part of Colombo but is now fairly removed. The stadium itself is somewhat oddly situated with housing projects and temples seemingly within the premises.

Shopping in Colombo

There are wide varieties of shopping complexes within the Colombo city all of them are with all the facilities. Most of the shopping malls are fully wi-fi enabled. 'Pettah Bazzar' is a crowded and a abusy bazzar with plenty of things that can be brought at a fairly cheep price. If you move along the Galle road you can find shopping malls like Majestic City, Liberty Plaza and Crescat which are very popular among locals as well.

Dehiwala Zoo

Dehiwala zoological garden is located in a beautiful landscape covering an area of 11 acres. This was first started by a German business family during the year of 1926. In the year of 1930 this was acquired by the Sri Lankan government and further improved.
